Power Monitors

Good morning all,

Our plant has expanded rather quickly over the past few years and we are nearing a point where we need to expand or power distribution as well. To start this venture it has been recommended we purchase and install a few power monitors to determine and pin point our main loads at various points in our distribution panel. Since I personally have never purchased one of these units and I see there are several to chose from. I would like to get some suggestions from those who have and see what you recommend.
My particular interests are obviously main current draw, voltage on/off peak demands, spike (distortion) lastly data recording ability. It would be nice to be able to communicate with this unit to chart its information.
Any suggestion on brands or your experience in selecting such devise are welcome.
Thank you

Not sure why you woulld buy them, call a NETA testing company, I know all of them in Michigan and they all can install monitors for a few weeks and interpret the data for you in a nice report.

We use 3 different types:

ACR Smart readers (current only) - used for trend reading of loads.

Fluke 1735 - used for recording voltage and current profiles

RPM (now Fluke 1750) - used for load studies, power quality analysis and capture of high speed disturbances

Note: I just re-read you OP and I guess I assumed you were looking for portable devices.
