We've been asked provide a detail of a pole base and pole which will hide a vent pipe for an underground diesel tank. I've never heard of such a thing. If any of you have ever done this, I'd be interested in picking your brain.

Thanks,

Mike

A light pole with or without a light??

Are you saying they want to run the vent pipe up a pole with electricity in it??

I thought you meant without a light until I saw Jumper's response.

We did a whole field of 'light-less light poles', probably about 10 or 12 poles total that were the vents for a landfill that had been capped.

I don't know how the base went together, I was sent out to hang the poles. When I got there the base had already been poured, it had a 3" PVC sticking up between the bolts and when I set the poles I had to put more 3" PVC up inside the pole until it stuck up out of the top.

I think they had us put a PVC T sideways at the top to keep the rain out.

It was odd for sure but I guess they wanted the vents up high, these were 25' poles at least.
