If you had two unit heaters that very close say 10' apart and were being fed from a panel 150' + away would you combine them into one pipe( if spec allowed and derate and size pipe correctly) or run them both back separatley?
Thanks.

If all you need is 120V for the gas ignitor & circulating fan yes one conduit.

Don't over think it. Two hots, one neutral, & one ground if you desire.

Ground wire required for non metallic conduit, opotional for EMT,Rigid, IMC.

Ok, so if it is a 20a or 30a hvac unit/ motor how do you know when you need a separate ground. I assume this is a code/ spec issue.

A side note. Just like you combine lighting and wiring device circuits... Can small motors ... 20/30a be combined? Thanks

This is the kind of thing we would decide in the field, we don't listen to what the estimators think will be the best way. :happyno::happyno:

It depends how easy or hard would be for the conduit to install VS the size of the wires. With copper prices nowadays it might be cheaper to install 2 separate conduits with #10 than one larger with #8, if the conduit is easy to install.
Or even worse from #6 to #4, not only the price difference on copper, but I'd rather install 2 - 3/4" conduits then one 1 - 1" unless the the run is very difficult.
