Continuous Grounding Conductor at Water Meter Jumper?

Is it permissible to jump the water meter with a separate jumper if in the original install the water meter was not jumped? And in a new install, would it be permissible to install a separate water jumper.

Also, when running a ground to a water meter (and jumping the meter) would it be permissible to continue to a ground rod at that point (continuos with no splice) rather than going from the neutral block to ground rod?

Depending on the answer to my first question, could a separate jumper be permitted across the meter, and the ground from the neutral hit the line in of the water service and than go to a ground rod?

Just wondering.

Thank you,

Rich

If your gec is on the line side of the meter then you can jump to the load side with a bonding jumper. You can also jump- does not need to be continuous- from the water pipe to the ground rod.

Thank you Dennis for clearing that up.

By the way, I've caught your icon a few times which always catches my eye.

I set up a home recording studio here a couple years back. Do you play? Want to right a hit song?

Let me know.

Thanks again.

No, I am tone deaf my family tells me. When I sing they say I change keys-- maybe there is a market for that. I heard that it is hard too do.

As Trevor stated they are on the mike holt site -- free graphics-- just copy the URL.
