Is it acceptable to add an extension collar on a square junction box, then exit the extension collar with another conduit? Example: multiple number of conduits fastened to a concrete wall using one hole straps, running horizontally. One of the inner conduits must feed a load at a certain point on the length of the parallel run. A box is inserted on that conduit for a straight feed through, and an extension collar is added to exit that junction point to install a conduit perpendicular to and over the other conduits of the parallel run. There has been a few discussions as to the code allowing or a violation concerning. Can someone set the record straight?

It's legal. Just not good practice.

What about in the scenario below?

Some one (480v) pull out the picture!
Yes it is fine to do, please leave slack in the box so I can get to the other wires in the rest of the pipes.

I think the best part is when you look closely you can see that the top box and the bottom box face each other. That had to be a good trick.:huh:
