Sort of a lame question. But I have searched the www and can't find this thing.
Looking for a link, data sheet, source, picture, name, anything showing this square or rectangular SEU weather head.
They slip over the top of the SEU cable.
I don't think I am that crazy, I have seen them.
Thanks for any info.

No, this thing is rectangular, no holes for conductors. It is like a box that goes over the top of the SEU cable.

Now if the clamp is in the box I think it is okay as in this one.

This box is intended to be a service cap for SEU.
I attempted to use one a number of yrs ago, but it just seemed to small to wrestle the cables into it.

But I could use one at a customer's site to save some effort. But I can't even find an image of one, let alone a supplier with it!

Dennis, not sure what you are describing re: taping wires in the weather head?

The circumstances at the customer site is such that a SEU service head that I could put on without cutting the lateral feed from the POCO would be SWELL.

But, I cannot find this strange SEU cover that I have seen and attempted to use in the past. The SEU weather heads that I usually use must have the conductors pass through them, thus you must have the SEU not attached to the feed from the street.

This box type of SEU cover, I THINK, can be slipped over the top of hte SEU cable.

.

Now that is what I was asking earlier. I thought you were just dead ending the se cable.

Home depot sells them online.
Arlington industries also makes them model #EH201

I do not understand the use of a SEU hood vs a SEU entrance cap?

would you not have to disconnect the service lateral from the old SEU first and then reconnect to the new SEU?
how does using a hood eliminate the need to disconnect the lateral?

we do not use SEU cable in the Denver metro area so hence my question.
