PVC expansion joints on other than straight runs?

I know when using PVC we must use expansion couplings to account for expansion and contraction of the conduit on straight runs between fixed equipment. But what happens on long runs with 90s or large offsets at each end before entering equipment?

Support clips after a bend count as fixed.

It's pretty simple, just imagine if the pipe got longer or shorter; would it put additional stress on the pipe at certain support points?

Good question on the offsets. IMO you would still need an expansion fitting if the expansion exceeded the dimension in 352.44. For what it's worth an offset would consist of two elbows even if they were less than 90?.
