If the building is built of Type III, IV or V construction and the NM cable is concealed within the building finish of at least a 15 minute finish rating it would be acceptable. (See 334.10(3))

And check with your local AHJ, many jurisdictions have ordinances prohibiting the use of NMC in commercial.
