High pressure srayers

In 422.49, it states that any high pressure sprayer rated less than 250v, single phase cord and plug connected must have GFCI protection factory installed in th e plug assembly or supply cord. My questions seems simple in my head but just wanted verification. A hard wired, single phase, less than 250v sprayer should not need to be GFCI protected. Or does it?

You are correct, 422.49 only applies to cord and plug connected spray washers. If you have a listed hard wired spray washer then GFCI protection would not be required unless the manufacturer required it in the installation instructions.

I am not trying to rget rid of a nuicence trip. I have alway dealt with smaller cord and plug sprayers. I am wiring up a larger one for a customer, and was pretty sure of I did not need GFCI protection but wanted to be sure.
