Bond transformer guard?

I am in the process of installing a 75 kVA transformer in our plant. I will be installing a guard in front of the transformer constructed of 2" x 2" square stel tubing. I couldn't find anything in the NEC but does this guard need to be bonded to ground in any way?

No, but there's building steel located about 2' away.

It has a removable panel and I would think is not likely to become energized. It is mainly to protect against forklift contact.

So your plan would be to bond it to building steel? What purpose would this serve?

Have you considered bonded it simply to the transformer enclosure which should be bonded with an EGC?

I do not see anything bonding this guard will accomplish, I can't see it likely being energized (unless you dug into one of the conductors feeding the transformer)

I agree, don't bother bonding it.

I agree with templdl. My inclination is to bond anywhere one can reach between conductive surfaces. So if it is less than 8 feet from the guard to the xfm, I'd bond the two. This is not a code issue, it is a safety design issue.
