NEC Aritcle 210.63, if I install a piece of HVAC equipment above a drop-ceiling am I required to install a recepitcle above the drop-ceiling to service the equipment or can my recepticle that is below the drop-ceiling but is within the 25-feet limitation be sufficient if G.F.C.I, protected.
This is in a commercial tenant improvement not a Dwelling, Guest Room or Dormitory. Your response would be helpful. I intrepret this to mean that I just need the recepitcle within 25-feet whether above the ceiling line or below as long as I am on the same level (within the floor, the ceiling would not be considered a different level).

Art. 210.63 states that the receptacle must be installed on the same level. That could be argued. I would install one in the ceiling.

IMO the area above a ceiling (unless it's an interstitial space that you can walk on) is not a different level so the receptacle can be anywhere within 25'.
