Recently, the Utility Co. pulled a meter that serves a Fire Pump. What kind of label could/should there be for the Utilty or Owner to know about this?

IIRCC, service taps for fire pumps are usually ahead of the meter; what happened here?

What good would a label do if you don't pay the bill? Why was the meter pulled?

Not around here. Fire pump services are metered just like any other service in this area.

Hmmm, so if the meter is pulled for whatever reason, and the building burns to the ground because there wasn't enough water pressure at the sprinklers, who's going to have the really bad day in court?

Any fire pump installation I have done has two sources for the fire pump and the normal source is monitored for power loss and phase reversal by the fire alarm system.

That is no different than asking: Hmmm, so if the power is out for whatever reason, and the building burns to the ground because there wasn't enough water pressure at the sprinklers, who's going to have the really bad day in court?

Is the POCO supposed to supply free power for fire pumps? Do the monitoring stations monitor for free? The firemen aren't free either. There have been recent cases of firemen watching a building burn down because the bill wasn't paid previously. Who had a bad day then?

About the only way the utility would be in trouble is if the meter was pulled in error.
