Hello, I searched and read where people relocate a panel and need to make a splice for the SE cable and other circuits. I recently did this and the inspector said I am not able to have them in the same junction box. Does anyone know if this is against code? Thanks

Article 230.7 will not allow service entrance conductors in the same raceway as other conductors but they can be in the same JB as long as there is adequate room

:thumbsup::thumbsup:I just couldn't see it..:lol:

230.7 does not say anything about J-boxes.

230.7 Other Conductors in Raceway or Cable. Conductors
other than service conductors shall not be installed in
the same service raceway or service cable.

I agree with Dennis. It is not a violation of 230.7 unless they are also sharing a raceway.
Sight unseen, I might worry about 230.70(A)(1)

I have a disconnect at the meter base. All I did was
extend the SE cable because I had to move the breaker
panel and I used one junction box for the SE cable and
5 other circuits. Nice big junction box with plenty of room.

If you have a breaker ahead of the SE cable, 230.7 is definitely a mute issue as you are dealing with a feeder and not service conductors.
