Never really gave this much or any thought for the last 35 years, but your post reminded me of some flood lights that lit up the flag pole at the High School I went to.

The floods where protected inside a fabricated mesh type steal enclosure secured to a little poured pad (bolts to remove to service lights).

With all the kids around, and growing up down the block.........the flag was always lit.

I did a project a while back, but dont remember the manufacturer. Will let you know if I find it.

One thing I remember from that project is that you need to install in such a way that allows drainage - but the manufacturer provides all the documentation.
