Ouch! But true.

In northern states where ground freezes this is not that big of a deal. Concrete is always needing repaired every few years. You generally don't need to demolish that much concrete to find rebar either. Question is if there was no bond wire at pump there probably is none any place else either, now it is decision time

a lot of pool decks were made without rebar. they either used mesh or sometimes these days they use fiberglass. can you use the mesh instead?

how do you bond to fiberglass?

I was replying to someone suggesting to bond to rebar. Obviously if there is no rebar that changes things.
