1970 nec question

does anyone know if a multi-unit housing unit(24) built in NY in 1970 with a main circuit breaker installed after the meter for each unit requires the grounds and the neutrals to be seperated in the sub panel in each apartment?

I can't say for certain, but I don't think it was ever allowed once equipment grounds were required, and I believe that was in the late sixties.

So you have a "main" breaker then a 3 wire system to the apartment panel?

I don't have a problem with that 1970 install.

What is your concern about the install? Legal or safety issue? Sounds like it is both (OK).
