If you were cutting back a feeder...say 4/0 or larger(aluminum) and you had to splice new conduxtors to it so you were able to extend it what type of splice would you use? Compression or Split Bolt? Does anyone have a pic of this? I am looking on Ilsco site now. THanks.

We've been using the insulated Ilsco's for a while and they're great but somewhat expensive. FORGET A SPLITBOLT!

If I had the equipment available I would use a HYPRESS compression connector and a cold shrink.

Why is the cold shrink necessary? What is a HYPRESS connector?
