I am farely new to the industrial side but I have a generator and a load bank that needs to be tested at 200% of the generator capacity for a total of 5 seconds. I am sizing the conductors for the generator but since it is only for 5 seconds, do I need to account for the 200% loaded in my ampacity calculations (doubling the size of the conductors)?

The UL standard for circuit breaker and fuses, requires them to carry 200% for several minutes. So, 200% for 5 secs is definitely not beyond normal for a conductor.
