First, a very Merry Christmas to all.
Second; here is the update on my medical saga.
The results of the latest biopsy came back and Thursday my oncologist reviewed the treatment plant with us. I will start with a 4 cycle chemotherapy of two drugs. Each cycle is 3 weeks long. After the 4 cycles a PET scan will show the effectiveness of the drugs by showing how much, if any, shrinkage of the tumor(s) occur.
He is performing further genetic testing to see if the non-small cell, adenomic carcinoma is a variant that they have a lock-and-key solution which is a curative solution. The chance is 1 in 25.
The current status is that my disease is treatable, but not curable. Eventually the cells mutate where they no longer respond to the chemo. This could happen sooner, or later.
Obviously we hoped for - perhaps against hope - for better news, but I am OK with it. As I said: it is what it is.
So just as I have been given a new chance for life, I believe that chance still exist.
Our 'kind' don't believe in miracles, we absolutely depend on them.
Praise Heavenly Father for my life and Merry Christmas to all - again -: the Greatest Gift humankind ever received.
Blessings,
Laszlo
