Gas fireplace rough in

I need to rough in for a gas fireplace. Do these just plug in and run off a switch? Or what is all needed?

The ones that I have done required 120 V stub at the fire place & then Low Voltage switch. The power recptacle was always at

the right front of fire place opening. The LV switch can be anywhere. If the family room has a C-Fan use one of those Arlington

side cars that attach to the side of your box.
