In the 2011 NEC, does art. 410.64 prohibit feeding a recessed fixture with a 3 wire using the red as the switch
leg and the black as a constant feed,then feeding an outlet from the recessed fixture with a 2 wire?

410.64 allows thru wiring if it is listed for it. Read 410.21 where 410.64(B) send us

makes sense now. I was mistaking through wiring with just the jumping out of the fixtures, thanks Mr. S.
