have to refeed overhead garage. code compliance came by property and gave ok to refeed overhead. in garage there is only one receptacle and a light. my question is this. using a triplex wire and resplicing at both ends, how do you get your ground? shall i use one of the two wires as a neutral and bond the messenger wire to the conduits? its only a 120 feed. i normally do these underground so not exactly familiar with this install, underground not an option in this case

If the inspector said "Go ahead and do it" I would use a three wire triplex. One of the insulated wires is hot, one insulated wire is neutral,

the bare wire would be ground. For 120 V receptacle this should be fine.

120' is a long stretch for that wire. Can you get the clearances needed? Not sure of the stress it will put on the wire at that distance-- what size triplex are you pulling
