Question for general discussion
Does a company hired to install video cameras, not specifically 'security'; require a license and a permit to do the work?

IE - Restaurant general seating area, cameras being installed during the rough-in, by a company being paid to do the work; NOT electricians, cameras use cat 5 wiring, 24 volt DC.

Your opinions, please...............

It is going to come down to the laws in your area. In NJ if it was not part of a security system it would be a licensed electrical contractor, if it was security and only involved low voltage or plug in devices than it could be a licensed alarm company.

That is a Class C license in mass and requires a permit.
