As per definition, if we have some apartments with bathroom, closet, and a small reading area, those apartments are not dwelling unit, since they don't have permanent provision for cooking, in these case these apartment are exempt to comply with:
210.11 (C)3, allowing that the bathroom receptacles be in the same circuit with other receptacles
210.12 (A) and (B) allowing to install non AFCI circuits in the bedrooms
Is all this correct?

...it does not have to comply with the requirements of a dwelling units, but there are other provisions that must be meet, 210.8(B) for example.

mtmartinezr,

1st, ...Welcome to the Mike Holt - Electrical Forum!

2nd, ...Do you know which codes are being used on
your project?

From the
`06 IBC, Ch. 2 - Definitions.
SLEEPING UNIT: "A room or space in which people sleep,
which can also include permanent provisions for living, eating,
and either sanitation or kitchen facilities but not both.
Such rooms and spaces that are also part of a dwelling unit
are not sleeping units."

We are only using the NEC 2011, no the IBC. Thanks.

Even if you can why would you want to feed more than one bathroom with the same circuit? Most of us have all learned that it is not practical anymore.

I think like you I'm just reviewing an electrical design for a client, where the person who designed is leaving two outlets on the same circuit in different baths. Thank for your comments.
