problem house

house has 70 percent aluminum wire and 30 percent copper that is romex don't know where all of the circuits go. its a big house with sheetrock ceilings in basement was thinking about afcis on the circuits that I cant replace all of the wire on

The afci certainly won't hurt. I lived in a house many years ago that was all aluminum. I just made sure the place was properly wired with al/cu devices and noalox on the larger conductors

Suggest smoke detectors as well. Backup for the AFCIs won't hurt either.

It is not that you can't replace all the wiring, it is what do you need to do to replace it?

most of the house is dropped down from the ceiling to the first recpt then feeds through the walls its not that it cant be done but there would a great expense there is no access from below and outside walls are inpossible
