I have an inspector that is looking for the mfgs approval to tap the bus in an existing switchboard. Problem is it's old, really old. I'm having trouble getting feedback from Square D. I'm located in NJ, does anyone have a contact that can assist me?

Square D has never supplied information on field tapping a bus. There are way too many variables to offer a standard package. Without a standard instruction set, there would be no automatic UL labeling for it. They, and others, have a field service group that make modifications and upgrades to installed equipment.

Field modifications are subject to AHJ approval. UL says they would be happy to help in the field evaluation process.
