I have a 45KVA 3 phase transformer, 480V Delta to 208Y/120. I need to back feed it using 240V Delta to acheive 480V. I can't seem to get my head around this. Am I making it too difficult or are there some inherent problems?:?

THX,
scott

If you backfeed a 480-208 transformer with 240 volts, you are going to get 553 volts at the other end. This setup does not make sense. What are you trying to achieve?

Inherent Problems, Yes.
To Backfeed a transformer rated for 208 with will NOT give you a 480v output, even
with adjustable taps, you will be in the range of 530volts or so.
I suggest trying to replace the transformer with something rated for the purpose
