the contractor use one OCPD for branch circuit supplying 5 Fan Coil Units (FCU). each FCU install in separate apartment (total 5 apartments). OCPD installed in one of those 5 apartment. power of FCU is 800 w at 230 v 50 Hz.
Q1: considering each separate apartment as single dwell, OCPD shall be installed together with FCU in same apartment. right? please refer to code.
Q2: is it permitted to connect 5 FCU on the same branch with one OCPD?
thanks in advance.

Assuming each unit has integral overload protection or such and a disconnecting means, yes-if the circuit is properly sized.
many thanks

See 430.53.

An 800 watt motor @ 230 volts is getting close to pushing the limits here, especially if there are to be 5 units on the circuit, but depending on exactly what its ratings are it may be fine.
