Cooktop and wall over single circuit

Am I right on this? I got a 4 kw oven and 7.6kw cooktop. 240v. So total is 11.6kw. Column C say 8 percent derate. After I derate the circuit it's 44.46 amps. We can put this on the old 50amp range wire.

That is not 8% but 8 KW. A 40 amp circuit will work

For some reason this table is hard for people to understand. Col A and B are percent but Col C is KW. There are some many factors to look at but in your case Note 4 comes into play so you consider the 2 units as a single unit and then use Col C

I mentioned this in another thread. Any range greater than 8 3/4 KW to 16 Kw only requires a 40 amp circuit.

Dennis. One more ? Let's say I got 12.9 KW combined. I have to increase the 8kw buy 5% each kw right? So, it would be 8.4?

So basically you have 12.9kw - 8kw = 4.9 * .05= .245

8 kw * .245= 1.96 so you have 8 + 1.96 = 9.96kw

OOps-- cooking and typing--

It should be .9 over 12kw not 4.9 = .9 *.05=.045

8*.045= .36 so yes 8.4 is correct
