work is there. that being said, it's nice being able to increase my price, it's nice having people beg, for you to do the job, it's nice being able to give somebody a job and it's really nice ignoring the tire kickers and A-HOLES.

Even when work was slow we raised our price did jobs for that price and ignored the tire kickers. We had a call from a property manager wanting a service call she said we would have to bill corporate for the call I said we would come out but payment needed to be made at time of service cash ,check or CC. We have not heard back. NEXT......

About time

I'm weeding out the scam artists. I'm going to stop doing billing and start "prequalifying" with credit cards this will cut out a crucial step, collections. Service companies are a dead end and anyone that needs 3 photos to process the billing are too top heavy to not have to pay up front for my services. The end of this summer has been good here. Waiting for the fall off but it might keep up. Thank you Fulthrotl for the heads up on Squareup. People are starting to flip houses again here.

work is there. that being said, it's nice.

that sums it up for me.

what is interesting is that the "work" didn't just show up.
there was a lot of "wasted" effort on quotes and stuff.

a big chunk of what had to change was me, not "them".

ellen's weekend biz plan is where a lot of it started for me.

none of the customers i had three years ago are anywhere
in sight. i currently have four good commercial accounts
that are live, and about 4 more that will probably call when
they need stuff.

those four active accounts it looks like will amount to around
$2M in billing in the next three years. time will tell, but i'm
thinking i might very well need to put a crew together. it's time.

i just had to pass on a $300K electrical redo of a bridge.
the only other bidder is a shop i used to work for.
taking that away from them would probably buy me more
grief than i'm willing to accept delivery on at this time.
and i don't have the bonding and the stones to go after stuff
that big.... yet. i'd rather hit base hits all day than strike
out trying for a home run.
