What are rules on this type of unit? I have reviewed prior thread and cannot find one for a unit that is also a heater.

I would check the brand and look up the mfg installation instructions.

All I've ever seen required for a bath fan/light was to be GFCI protected, but don't remember seeing anything with a heater. I have put them in but they weren't close to the shower.

Please define shower spray --- Incidental contact (off the back or head during shower) or in the path of shower head. Min code would require damp location rated.

If it is mounted on the ceiling then it would not be subject to shower spray.
