Hello,

I have been using Quickbooks for quite a few years now. I pay annually for their tax table update service. I once heard that I could manually install my tax rates myself and avoid the annual fee. Does anyone in this forum use Quickbooks and manually enter their tax rates?

Thank you,

Are you looking for employee withholding type tables? You can always look up withholding in IRS publications and manually enter the withholdings amounts.

I have not used quickbooks for a while but when I did without support I could not print out year end tax forms or W-2 for employees.
I can't do that either because I don't subscribe to their services, but my accountant looks at reports I create for him as well as any quarterly returns I have made and makes sure he has information he wants for final quarter returns/annual returns and does end of year tax forms and W-2's for me. This also puts some liability on him if something is wrong, which is why I pay him, unless he can prove I gave him false information, then it is all on me.

Last thing you want is for total at end of year on payroll returns to not match what was reported all four quarters, if he catches any mistakes or things do not balance last quarter will be adjusted just so everything does match and not automatically throw up a red flag on the government system
