Light fixtures in suspended ceilings

We are still under the 2008 NEC. I cant find any requirement that states that troffers in a suspended ceiling have to have there own support wires. What is the code on this? Is 2011 any different?

It is not an NEC requirement, it will be in found in your local building codes.

410.36 is all you have to worry about as far as the NEC is concerned.

It's actually in the t-bar standards ASTM C 635 and ASTM C 636.
