I just had this problem. Supplier told me the DC disconnect for the SMA SB6000US inverter is not available in the AFCI version. (for many SMA inv.s the DC Disco contains the AFCI)

Yes, many different DC Disconnects exist for the 6000 and larger SMA inverters. Only some contain AFCI.
Some are "made in Canada" or whatever and qualify for their subsidies. MAybe other kinds too???

GGUNN, thanks i followed your link. It says,

  • Optional integrated AFCI functionality meets the requirements of NEC 2011 690.11
Of course, they start by writing AFCI!!! in big letters everywhere.

[All of the new (very awesome!) 3000, 4000, and 5000 SMA TL inverters have AFCI.]
