Parallel... Tap

Was looking through an estimate and saw line items "parallel tap" along with the feeder size. I know what a tap is but I'm not sure what they meant by " parallel". I know what parallel sets are but it still does not make sense. When would you need these? Thanks

maybe they mean you have to tap all the sets of conductors, which you would. It seems redundant.

Or maybe as another poster mentioned it is the means by which they want the tap made.

I have to agree it is probably referring to the type of connector to be used, which looking at Smart's link, doesn't really narrow it down to just a couple types without using some more descriptive terms.
