Me and my friend went fishing for an hour before work.

Then we went to what was supposed to be routine breaker changeout on some electrical gear with the idea of returning to fishing in two or three hours.

We smelled him before we saw him. The boss saw the puddle in the bottom of the gear and said, "I know what that is." We thought it was 'possum drippin's at first. Then we looked up and saw the 'coon tail.

That is 2000 Amp 480 Volt bussing he crawled into. He went A phase to neutral. 277V. Ride the Lightnin'. Never tripped the breaker.

My buddy pulled out the two big pieces and then my chore was to pull out the bus and wipe down the drippin's. We never made it back to fishing.

We had to restore service at the end of our outage window. We will schedule a return to replace the damaged bus.
