310.15 age?

Can anyone tell me how long article 310.15(B)(3)(a) hasbeen in the N.E.C.? thank you.

The first time 310.15(B)(3)(a) was in the code was the 2008 code, however the rule existed prior to that. Starting with the 99 code, up through the 2005 code it was in 310.15(B)(2)(a) and prior to that it was Note 8 in the Notes to the 0-2000 volt ampacity tables. The oldest code i have here is the 1978 and Note 8 is in that edition.

The table has been through many address changes. It was originally in the back of the book along with the other tables.

It traces it's lineage back to the earliest codes of the late 1800s. When I get back to my desk, I'll post the history.
