When calculating residential load calcs for a single family dwelling, do you calc the loads at 100% or at 80%. I have a house that barely exceeds 400 amps with load diversity. If I apply the 80% rule, it falls below the 400 amp level. Anyone out there ever run into this sort of situation?

Have you tried both the standard and the optional method?

I'm not sure what you're refering to by 80% or 100%. Is there a code reference?

You make the caculations per section 220. Mike has a residential caculator under free stuff at the home site. How did you come up with the 400 amps?

In the 2002 code use 220.30 and read it closely, in the 2005 it is at 220.82. Do part (B) then do part (C) and add them together
