I am having an argument with my plumbing supervisor. I want to ground , bond all the sinks in the hotel i work at. All sinks are metal, but with all PVC pipes and drains. He is telling me this is not required. Is he right ?
If this needs to be done do i take a ground lead back to the Circuit Breaker Panel or can i bond to a local outlet ?

Bonding of sinks is not required by the NEC, metal water piping is required to be bonded. Where and how is best left to an electricain.

Vic,
Why do you see a need to bond the sinks? What is the power source that would be likely to energize the sink?

Electric sink and tub warmers, of course! These are very popular down here in SW Florida. :p

Lame joke aside, what about electric toilet seat warmers? Now I know they do exist, though I have never seen or installed one.
