Tapping off of the main feeder

If you have a generator transfer switch, can one install an indicator light tapped off of the main in this transfer switch, provided that a fuse block is install to protect this indicator light?

I did this but seem to be having trouble with the code reference to back me up. Anyone have some insight on this?

Closest reference I can see is 240.21(B)..probably (1) so you need to check the size of your tap conductor in reference to 240.21 rules.
Other "technical" concern would concern how you "tapped". If you added your tap to the main conductor lug, is it rated for the two wires.
If you mounted the light in the transfer switch does that violate it's UL rating.
Taking all that into consideration, I've done it, and seen it done often
