If you provide seperate galvanized support wire for the MC cable and you are running a two wire circuit ie single switch leg, can you use the j-box on the recess fixture and jump from fixture to fixture as long as you support the MC as required?

are you asking if you could "hit" each light j box and allow your switch leg to continue through each one ? If so and your box has adequate cu in., I see no problem, but it seems like it would more work than running the cable separate and supporting.
Locally our lights have to have tie wire support and we are allowed to use the same tie wire to support a MC for a switch leg.

When you run your MC and support it do you abide by the distance rules with your wire clips or "batt wings" as they are known? And do you add specific wire supports for the MC and fixtures?

330.30(D)2 makes it pretty easy to daisy chain MC between fixtures with one Caddy kx. (bat wing) Even if they are 10' apart, you are allowed 6' unsupported to the fixture.

Yes. Supported every 6ft and within 12" of termination except as allowed by 333.30(D)

For MC as required to meet the above and for fixtures as required by seismic.
We are allowed to use the fixture support wires to support the MC
