Gentlemen: Is footer ground necessary for a 100amp sub-pnl in an attached (new addition)garage/ upstairs living area. I will be running 4/w as feeder (#1 cu.)? Thanks

I thought if I used "Gentlemen" I'd get a more gentle reply..

We're just having some pre-holiday celebration fun with you. But you should keep in mind that there are ladies (or, in order to be PC, should I have said "female adult humans"?) who are active members of this Forum as well.

In any event, we're glad you are now actively participating yourself.

well, I hate to post cause i'm certainly no gentleman, after all I'm an inspector and usually referred to only in hyphenated terms, HOWEVER, I had not thought of it previously, but do we agree, it would be required on a DETACHED garage with power (except for 250-32 exception)?

If it is a new foundation does he still have to install a concrete incased electrode and then bond it to the exsisting grounding electrode.

I have heard that in Mass you do. And if one is installed then it needs to be bonded to the panel ground.
