    Quite often the main contractor is British and we may not know who, or where, the end user is.

    I recall that you posted that the motor is 7.5 kW. Not 7.5 kVA.
    The 25A is reasonable if you take a combination of 0.8 pf and 92% efficiency.
    But that makes it 10.2 kVA if I've done my arithmetic...

    Small ratio change, small transformer, small price.

    But probably more than half a dozen times over about 20 years.
    A mixture of business and pleasure. Paper mill, Manneken Pis, lace, but no 230 L-L that I was aware of.

    Brook Crompton still exists in Huddersfield. I don't know whether it is still a manufacturing site. It was when I last went there but that was thirty years ago or more.

    Roughly, the torque is proportional to the square of the voltage so you would get about 75% torque. If your load can get by with that you may be ok.
    Otherwise, as mgookin sensibly suggests get a...

    OK.
    Let's take the case of a fixed power (kW) at different power factors.
    PF = kW/kVA
    That's just the basic real power/apparent power definition.

    From that:

    kW = PF * kVA

    Lower PF and...

    Obviously the higher pf machine will draw greater current so supply conductor losses will be greater.
    For the motor, it depends on a number of factors as the Digger guy said.
