The fitting is not broken. The flex end of the coupler is 'split' and is only attached at one point to allow the fitting to close (reduce the diameter) around the flex by turning the screw. If you were able to see the backside of the OPs photo, you would see it was attached.

Anyone who has horsed 6000 lb pole bases in a hole with precast bases off a backhoe bucket would know that quick. They take a beating.iwire said:No reducing couplings that I know of.
I do know the bell end of 3/4" PVC fits perfectly in a 1" PVC coupling. :grin:
