I have an installation with a large mad-made pond where they are to install a pump and decrotatibe spray.
This seems to fall under the venue of Art 682 and, if so, GFCI is required for the pump and an equipotetntial plane needs to be established at the service.
This is going to go over like a lead baloon. I am reading correctly.

Submersible pump? Then 682.3 would send you to 680.51(A), and the grid is a given.

?? Don't see that. '08 ? Am I missing something ?

If this is a service Gus, how would one go about meeting the requirements of the last sentence of 682.11???

I have no idea.,.. .. a wood stick on a float to the transformer jack ? :D

who writes this stuff ? :)

Wiring and equipment in or adjacent to natural or artificially made bodies of water shall comply with the applicable provisions of other articles of this Code, except as modified by this article. If the water is subject to boat traffic, the wiring shall comply with 555.13(B).
Its a fountain with a submersible pump right? The above highlighted text would send me to...(08)

680.51 Luminaires, Submersible Pumps, and Other Submersible Equipment.
(A) Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter. Luminaires, submersible pumps, and other submersible equipment, unless listed for operation at 15 volts or less and supplied by a transformer that complies with 680.23(A)(2), shall be protected by a ground-fault circuit interrupter.
