Has anyone had trouble with those switches that light up when off? I havent investigated or replaced it yet but one night i hit the wall and turned the light on and the other night was givin a shock from it

Switches that light up when the load is off are generally put in series with the load (across the contact) and don't need to use a neutral or ground as a return path, so if this is the type of switch then its sounds like a problem with the switch having an internal connection problem and the strap is not grounded.

Was the shock a definite AC current shock or just static discharge when you touched it?

Just hitting the wall should not cause operation of a good condition switch, maybe something is defective or broken with it.

It was a shock there was a spark with it and tingling fingers. I plan to replace. Its in a moble home and the wiring has been a headace since moving in and been working to replace most devices and switch everything from the back stab connects to the screw termanils
