Sure it can, a Main panel can be located there as well.

As far as a code section permitting it, the key is, there is no code section prohibiting it.

The NEC is a permissive document....if it does not state that you cannot do something, then you are permitted to do it.
There would have to be a million-gazillion code sections if the NEC was to have a section # for all permitted installations.;):cool:

am I reading 240.24(B)(2) correctly in saying that the panel can not be in bedroom of a motel/hotel unless the suite is equipped with cooking.
I guess technically that is a "guest room" and not a "bedroom"

Gus, it is saying that it is permissible for the OCPD's to only be accessible to building maintenance personnel, it is not mandatory for them to be.

IOW's, the panels "can" be located in the rooms if there is no cooking equipment but if there is cooking equipment, the OCPD's "must" be in the room.
