If a residential range is installed in a commercial application (church kitchen), do the allowable deratings per 220.55 and 220.61(B) still apply? I've read several posts discussing whether the meaning of "commercial" applies to the equipment or the location.

The rule that you apply depends on whether or not the facility is a dwelling unit. 220.55 applies to dwelling units. 220.56 applies to facilities other than dwelling units. 220.61(A) applies to any facility. 220.61(B)(1) applies only to dwelling units. 220.61(B)(2) applies to any facility. Clear as mud, right?

In your example, you do not have a dwelling unit, so 220.55 is not applicable. Neither is 220.61(B)(1).
