We have an engineer's note on a project that says "Provide Fused Disconnect Switch 100AS 100AF 3P disconnect switch." I can't find those references in any of the supplier catalogs. What do they mean?

He is mixing apples and oranges...these parameters usually refer to
"Trip setting/Frame size" for breakers, but he has asked for a fused disconnect not a breaker;however, you should submit a RFI.

Well that's too easy. Thanks. BTW, our panel supplier wasn't sue what it meant either.

The reason this can be important is because sometimes the engineer wants a larger fused switch then needed for the load.

For instance they might specify a 200 amp switch with a 100 amp fuse.
