AFCI protection is required in the kitchen. Verifying that this means the refrigerator? If so, then are you'll using a breaker to do this, since it needs to be readily accessible?
GFCI protection is required for receptacles installed to serve the countertop surfaces.
IF you install an AFCI receptacle for the refrigerator, so that it is readily accessible, then this will probably be in the countertop area, Then it would also need to provide GFCI protection :?
